Lake District Wedding Photography & Film
Weddings in the Lakes, photographed as they actually happen.
The Lake District is a pretty incredible place to get married. From the shores of Windermere to the mountains, valleys and country houses scattered throughout the region, there is something about getting married here that makes the landscape feel like part of the day.
I’m based in the Peak District but regularly travel to the Lake District and across the UK to photograph and film weddings. I’m not interested in turning your day into a photoshoot; I’m there to document the people, the atmosphere and all the moments that make your wedding yours.
From intimate celebrations and elopements to larger weddings at some of the Lake District’s best-known venues, my approach stays the same — relaxed, unobtrusive and focused on what is actually happening.
Wedding Photography in the Lake District
A wedding day moves quickly, and there's always more happening than you realise at the time.
My job is to keep an eye on all of it. The nervous moments before the ceremony, your friends making each other laugh, the reaction from your parents, the chaos of the dance floor and the quieter moments when you get five minutes together. I'll give you some direction when you need it, particularly for family photographs and couple portraits, but I'm not going to spend your wedding day lining everyone up and telling you how to pose. The aim is simple: photographs that bring you back to the day, rather than photographs that just show you what it looked like.
Wedding Film & Photography
I offer both wedding photography and film, either separately or together.
Photography captures those individual moments that you can return to again and again, while film brings back the movement, voices, music and atmosphere that photographs can't. When the two are combined, you get a complete record of the day without having to bring in a separate team of people with completely different approaches. I also shoot 35mm and medium-format film on selected weddings, adding another layer to the final collection where it feels right for the day.

Lake District Wedding Venues
I've photographed and filmed weddings around some of the Lake District's most beautiful venues, including Merewood Country House Hotel, Linthwaite House, Low Wood Bay, Broadoaks Country House, Cragwood Country House Hotel, Lodore Falls and Holbeck Ghyll.
Each venue has its own character, whether you're looking for lake views, a traditional country house, dramatic mountain scenery or something a little more intimate. You can see some of the weddings I've photographed and filmed at Lake District venues below.
More Than Just the Big Moments
One of my favourite things about working in the Lake District is that the scenery gives you so much to work with, but I don't want your wedding photographs to become a collection of landscape shots with you occasionally standing in them. The mountains, lakes and changing weather are part of the story, but you and your people are the story. Sometimes that's a quiet walk beside the water. Sometimes it's standing in the rain because you've decided you're getting the photograph anyway. Sometimes it's everyone packed onto a dance floor at the end of the night.
Whatever your day looks like, that's what I want to capture.

How far in advance should we book?
Lake District weddings can book up quickly, especially in peak season. It’s best to enquire as early as possible to secure your date, but last-minute availability may still be possible depending on the time of year.
What happens if it rains?
The Lake District is very changeable, so I always plan with flexibility in mind. There are plenty of sheltered locations, indoor spaces and alternative options depending on conditions.
