Yorkshire is big, big landscapes, big skies, big old houses, big parties and, occasionally, weather that seems to have a personal problem with your wedding day. It's also one of the best places in the UK to get married. From the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors to the countryside around York, Harrogate, Leeds, Sheffield and beyond, there is an enormous variety of places to get married — and plenty of brilliant people to fill them. I'm Pete, a UK wedding photographer and filmmaker based in the Peak District, and I regularly travel across Yorkshire to photograph and film weddings.I'm not interested in making your wedding look like everyone else's. I'm there to photograph your people, your day and all the stuff that happens in between.

Yes, I'll take the photographs you know you need. The two of you looking fantastic. Your family photographs. The ceremony. The confetti.
The big group photograph where nobody listens to me. But that's not really what I'm looking for. I'm looking for your mate losing it during the speeches. Your mum watching you walk down the aisle. Everyone piling into the bar. The five minutes you sneak away from everyone else. The dance floor getting increasingly questionable as the night goes on. Those are the photographs that bring the day back.
I don't want you remembering your wedding as six hours of being told where to stand. You should actually be at your wedding.

Yorkshire Is Part of the Story
I don't believe you need to spend half your wedding day climbing a hill just because you've booked a photographer. But if you're getting married somewhere spectacular, it'd be a shame not to use it. The Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, Yorkshire Wolds and the countryside around the county give us some incredible places for photographs without needing to turn the day into an adventure expedition.
Sometimes we'll disappear for ten minutes. Sometimes we'll stay exactly where the party is. It depends on you.
And if it rains? Well, you're getting married in Yorkshire. We'll deal with it.
Photography, Film & a Bit of Both
You can book me for wedding photography, wedding film or both. Photography gives you the photographs you'll keep coming back to.
Film gives you the things photographs can't, voices, movement, music, laughter and all the little sounds that you'd otherwise forget. I work with a trusted partner who will look after the photography side of things whilst I handle the videos. I also shoot 35mm and 120 medium-format film on selected weddings, because sometimes digital isn't quite enough to tell the whole story. If you book photography and film together, everything is created with the same approach and visual style, so the two work together rather than feeling like separate productions.

I'm not going to tell you I'm the only wedding photographer in Yorkshire worth booking. I'm not. There are loads of talented photographers here.
What I can tell you is how I work. I'll be calm when things aren't going to plan. I'll know when to step in and when to get out of the way.
I'll give you enough direction to make photographs easy without making the whole thing feel staged. I'll look after the important photographs while keeping my eyes open for everything happening around them. And I'll make the most of Yorkshire when it's there without making the landscape more important than the people standing in it. I am also really fun to be around so we will genuinely have a great day with me following you everywhere.
Basically, I'll photograph the shit out of your wedding without making you spend the day posing for me.

Do you offer elopement photography in the Lake District?
Yes, elopements and intimate weddings are a big part of my work in the Lake District and suit the landscape particularly well.
Are you based in the Lake District?
No, I’m a wedding photographer and filmmaker based in the Peak District. However, I regularly work across the Lake District and travel there frequently for weddings and elopements.
Do you offer both photography and film in the Lake District?
Yes — I offer both natural wedding photography and cinematic wedding film. Many couples choose a combined photo and film package so their full wedding story is captured in a consistent, documentary style. Contact me for more information
How far in advance should we book?
Lake District weddings can book up quickly, especially in peak season. It’s best to enquire as early as possible to secure your date, but last-minute availability may still be possible depending on the time of year.
Have you worked at our venue before?
I have worked across many Yorkshire venues and am always comfortable adapting quickly to new locations.
