Destination Wedding Photographer & Filmmaker
Destination wedding photography and film across Europe and worldwide
Your wedding doesn't have to happen close to home.
Maybe you've always imagined getting married somewhere warm, with the sea in the background and your favourite people around one long table. Maybe it's a villa in Italy, a mountain in Switzerland, a tiny ceremony in Ireland, a vineyard in Portugal or somewhere you've discovered while travelling together. Wherever it is, a destination wedding is about more than finding a beautiful place to get married.
It's about creating an experience around the people you love, in a place that means something to you. I'm Pete, a UK-based documentary wedding photographer and filmmaker, and destination weddings are something I'd genuinely love to do more of. I photograph and film weddings across Europe and worldwide, bringing the same relaxed, unobtrusive approach wherever the wedding takes me.
I'm there for the whole experience — not just the ceremony. The nervous morning preparations. The people arriving from all over the world. The first drink together. The dinner that carries on far longer than planned. The ridiculous stories during the speeches. Swimming the morning after. Dancing until someone decides the party is definitely over. And, of course, the wedding itself.
DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY & FILM
A Wedding Story That Includes the Place
One of the things I love about destination weddings is that the location becomes part of the story.
It might be the landscape around you, the architecture, the food, the weather, the local culture or simply the fact that everyone you care about has travelled halfway across the world to be there. I don't want to photograph your wedding as though it could have happened anywhere. If you're getting married in Italy, I want to photograph the warmth, the landscape, the food, the late evenings and the atmosphere.
If you're getting married in the mountains, I want the mountains to feel like part of the photographs. If you're having a small wedding on the coast, let's make use of the sea. But that doesn't mean dragging you away from your guests for hours to chase photographs.
The location is part of your story. It isn't the whole story.
The people always come first.
Documentary Wedding Photography Across Europe My approach is documentary wedding photography with enough direction when you need it. I'm not interested in turning a destination wedding into an editorial fashion shoot. I'll photograph the big moments, the people you travelled all this way to celebrate with and the little things happening around them. I'll also make time for some portraits of the two of you, particularly when we're somewhere spectacular. That might mean ten minutes walking through a quiet village after dinner, watching the sun disappear over the mountains or taking a short walk down to the beach. It doesn't need to feel like a photoshoot unless you want it to be.
You should still feel like you're on holiday with the people you love.
Destination Wedding Films
Photographs give you the moments, Film brings back the atmosphere. The sound of your friends laughing. Your dad's speech. The music playing during dinner. The noise of everyone arriving. Your voices when you read your vows. The ridiculous dance moves that photographs probably shouldn't have to explain. I create cinematic destination wedding films that sit alongside the photography and bring those parts of the day back to life. You can book me for photography, film or both. When you book both, I work across the day with one consistent approach so your photographs and film feel like part of the same story.
Film Photography for Destination Weddings
I also shoot 35mm and 120 medium-format film alongside digital photography. Film isn't something I use simply because it looks fashionable.
I use it when I think it adds something. The texture of a photograph taken during dinner. The softness of a portrait in beautiful evening light. A group of friends crowded around a table. Something slightly imperfect that feels more like a memory than a photograph.
You'll still receive a complete digital gallery, but the film photographs add another layer to the story.
Featured Destination Wedding — Country Victoria, Australia
Sam & Michael
One of my favourite destination wedding experiences took me all the way to Country Victoria, Australia, for Sam and Michael's wedding.
They chose to celebrate surrounded by their closest family and friends in a landscape that felt completely connected to who they were.
But the wedding didn't stop at the ceremony. Afterwards, we climbed aboard a helicopter and flew into the Victorian High Country to Craig's Hut, the place where Sam and Michael had become engaged. It wasn't simply a beautiful location. It meant something to them.
That made the photographs different. The helicopter flight, the mountains, the weather, the landscape and the story behind the location all became part of their wedding experience. That's what I love about destination weddings.
You aren't just travelling somewhere beautiful. You're creating memories in a place that becomes part of your story.

Planning a Destination Wedding?
Destination weddings need a little more planning than a wedding down the road.
Travel, accommodation, timelines, light, weather and locations can all affect how the day works.
I'll help you think through the photography side of things before the wedding, including how much coverage you'll need, when to make time for portraits and how to make the most of the location without taking you away from your guests.
If you're planning a multi-day celebration, I'm also available for welcome dinners, pre-wedding events, rehearsal dinners, excursions and day-after sessions.
Because sometimes the best photographs happen before the wedding day has even started.
Why Book Me for Your Destination Wedding?
You don't need a photographer who arrives with a suitcase full of complicated ideas.
You need someone who can arrive somewhere unfamiliar, work with whatever the day throws at them and make you feel comfortable in front of a camera.
That's what I aim to do.
Documentary photography that lets the day happen naturally.
Cinematic wedding films that capture the voices, movement and atmosphere.
35mm and 120 film alongside digital photography.
Calm direction when you need it, without turning the day into a photoshoot.
Experience working in different environments, from countryside weddings to adventure-filled celebrations.
And most importantly, someone who actually wants to be there.
Let's Go Somewhere
If you've found this page because you're planning a wedding somewhere I've never photographed before, that's absolutely fine.
In fact, I'd probably prefer it.
Tell me where you're going, what you're planning and who's coming with you.
If it sounds like something we'd both enjoy, we'll take it from there.
No awkward sales pitch.
No pressure.
Just a conversation about your plans and whether I'm the right photographer and filmmaker to come along for the ride.
