As a documentary wedding photographer and filmmaker, I love arriving somewhere new, understanding the landscape, the light, the atmosphere and the people, then creating photographs and films that reflect the experience as it truly unfolded. Every destination has its own character, and I believe your wedding photography should capture not only your story, but the place that became part of it.

Sam & Michael – Country Victoria, Australia

One of the greatest privileges of this job is being invited into places and moments that you would never otherwise experience.

For Sam and Michael, that place was the heart of country Victoria, Australia.

Surrounded by rolling countryside, they chose to celebrate with their closest family and friends in a setting that reflected everything they loved about home. It wasn't about extravagance or following trends—it was about creating a wedding that felt personal, relaxed and completely authentic to them.

One of the highlights of the day came after the ceremony, when we climbed aboard a helicopter from Alpine Helicopters and flew to Craig's Hut, the place where Sam and Michael had become engaged. Perched high in the Victorian High Country and surrounded by breathtaking views, it was the perfect location for their couple portraits and one of those moments that reminds you why destination weddings are so special.

The journey, the landscape and the significance of the location all became part of their story, creating photographs and film that could never have existed anywhere else.

This is what I love most about destination weddings—not simply travelling, but documenting places that genuinely matter to the couples choosing them.

Why I Love Destination Weddings

No two destination weddings are ever the same.

Every location has its own pace, culture, weather, architecture and atmosphere, naturally shaping the story of the day.

Whether it's an intimate mountain elopement, a lakeside celebration, a vineyard wedding in Italy or a weekend spent exploring somewhere completely new, every destination offers something different.

Travelling has always been one of the biggest inspirations behind my work. Experiencing new places, meeting new people and working in unfamiliar environments constantly challenges me creatively and allows me to tell every story in a way that feels individual.

My Approach

My approach doesn't change simply because we're in another country.

I won't turn your wedding into an all-day photoshoot or spend hours taking you away from your guests.

Instead, I quietly document the day as it naturally unfolds, capturing genuine moments, real emotion and the atmosphere that made you choose that location in the first place.

The biggest landscapes often create the smallest moments—holding hands before the ceremony, laughter around a dinner table, the quiet during sunset, or dancing long after the sun has disappeared.

Those are the moments I'm there to preserve.
